"Why losing time (and money) on Sellaband when you can do it your own way ?
NY indie band Telling On Trixie is showing the world how. They just launched their own fundraising project (abandwithaplan.com) in order to get advanced with some $50,000 and involve fans in the decision making process as they record and release a new album and video.
Nice try, fellas. No guts, no glory !
So let’s see how it goes…"

Released a little over a year ago, NY NY's Telling on Trixie's self-titled debut album still sounds as good today as the first time I heard it. Derek Nicoletto's soulful vocals on Orion's Light are perfect; the backdrop instrumentals don't overtake him on a single occasion. Featuring wonderful organs, powerful-yet-not-overpowering rock guitars and anthemic lyrics truly sung from the heart, ToT is Nicoletto (loud vocals) and Brad Small(quiet vocals), Tommy Kessler on lead guitar, bass player Matt Aronoff and Andrew Frawley on drums.
The band is in the process of a unique program to fund their next album. You can read about the plan here. We are going to help, maybe yo might consider it too. Here's hoping it comes to fruition for them; this music is too good to be silenced for lack of funding. And we all know how difficult that is for any independent band.
